Climbing Wall

MUAC operates the Climbing wall in the Massey Rec Center. This wall is primarily a bouldering facility, though we can and do set up top ropes.

The climbing wall is a seperately managed facility to the rest of the Rec Center, so additional fees are required.

Massey Students pay $2 per visit to the wall.  Non-students must get annual Rec Center pass ($65) and pay a $5 per visit fee wall fee.

MUAC members (student or non student) are encouraged to buy a semmester wall pass ($10) from the climbing wall officer which allows free use of the wall on Tuesday and Thursday MUAC Climbing nights from 7-10pm. Outside these timings, you must pay the per visit fee, even if you have a wall pass.

At the wall, MUAC can supply climbing shoes, chalk, bouldering pads, harnesses and rope. On club nights, the climbing wall officer and experienced MUAC members offer instruction on climbing techniques.

The club climbing nights are relaxed and fun. Occaisonally the club runs bouldering competitions. Come along to meet new people, hang out and learn about the wonderful sport of rock climbing...
