Surf Club

The Massey surf club started up this year by a group of surfing enthusiasts who saw there was a need for such an organisation in Palmerston North. The club has provided a social network for meeting other like mined people and has resulted in numerous epic surf adventures around New Zealand's amazing coastline in all directions, ranging from east, west, and south coast. This year the club has managed to get eight New Solid boards thanks to the generousity of solid boards. The club is also in the process of acquiring some wetsuits and various other equipment. The new boards and wet suits are giving people who have always had an interest for the ocean an opportunity to be introduced to the incredible art of surfing. International students have been particularly fast on uptaking this amazing opportunity. Next year the club expects to double in numbers and have regular club trips to local himatungi after school when the surf is up. Plenty of weekend missions will also be on the cards to search for the perfect wave. This is what surfing is all about..... the pursuit for happiness, excitement and adventure!
